The story
From Plymouth to Brisbane.
In 2015, my dad Joedy Lawrence started Smarta Switch in Plymouth, UK. The premise was simple — most small businesses are overpaying for their energy, no broker is genuinely on their side, and the industry deserves someone local who actually answers the phone.
Ten years later, Smarta Switch UK looks after hundreds of British pubs, cafes, and shops — saving them over £348k in 2025 alone.
In 2026, with dad's blessing and the same playbook, Chloe Hartley and I launched the Australian sister: Smarta Switch Australia. Same brand. Same standards. Australian feet on the ground.

We're paid by the retailer when you switch. We tell you that on day one. Ask us the dollar amount, we tell you.

Every quote shows all retailers we got prices from, not just the one we recommend. You see the comparison.

Recommend honestly
If we recommend a retailer where our commission is lower, we say why. The customer's interest comes first.

Don't force the switch
If your current contract is already at market, we'll tell you to stay put. Forced switches kill trust.
