Smarta Switch Australia Pty Ltd (ABN {{ABN}} · ACN {{ACN}}) ("Smarta Switch", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of personal and business information collected from customers, suppliers, and visitors to our website https://smartaswitch.com.au and our energy brokerage services.

This policy explains how we comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. What we collect

• Business name, ABN, ACN, trading address.
• Contact name, email, phone number.
• Energy bill copies — including National Meter Identifier (NMI), Meter Installation Reference Number (MIRN), retailer, tariff structure, consumption history.
• Interval meter data, obtained from your meter data provider with your Letter of Authority.
• Website usage data via Google Analytics 4 (anonymised IP, page views, referrers).

2. How we collect it

• Directly from you, via our bill upload form, email, or phone.
• From your meter data provider (Yurika, Powermetric, Pluses, Mondo) on the strength of a signed Letter of Authority.
• From retailers we quote with, who may return offer pricing referencing your business.

3. How we use it

• To prepare and present commercial energy quotes from our retailer panel.
• To execute the switch to your selected retailer, including signing customer transfer requests on your behalf with the LoA.
• To service your account through the life of the contract — billing queries, renewal preparation, dispute resolution.
• To meet our obligations under the National Customer Code for Energy Brokers.

4. Who we share it with

• Energy retailers on our quoting panel, when we request offers on your behalf.
• Meter data providers, to obtain interval data via the LoA.
• Australian regulators where required by law.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with marketing third parties.

5. How long we keep it

For the life of any contract we broker on your behalf, plus seven years to meet Australian record-keeping obligations. After that, we delete or de-identify the data.

6. Your rights

• Access your data — email joseff@smartaswitch.com.au for a copy.
• Correct your data — let us know if anything's wrong.
• Delete your data — unless we're required to retain it.
• Withdraw your Letter of Authority at any time, in writing.
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe we've breached the APPs.

7. Cookies

Our website uses Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic. We anonymise IP addresses. No advertising cookies, no third-party tracking pixels.
