SMARTAPOWERING BUSINESSES FOR LESS

Letter of Authority

What it is. What it does. What it doesn't.

What the LoA actually does

A Letter of Authority gives Smarta Switch permission to act on your behalf with energy retailers and the network operator (Energex). Specifically, it lets us:

  • Request your meter data from your meter data provider.
  • Get quotes from retailers using your business details.
  • Submit the customer transfer request when you confirm a switch.

What it doesn't do

  • It's not a contract for energy supply. Your supply contract is between you and the retailer — signed separately, with full terms.
  • It doesn't bind you to switch. You can review our quotes and decide not to proceed. No obligation.
  • It doesn't give us access to your finances. No bank details, no payment authority, no direct debit.

How to revoke it

Email joseff@smartaswitch.com.au any time and we'll cancel it. We'll notify any retailers we were quoting with on your behalf, and remove your data from active brokerage workflows.

Step 1 of 1

Ready to start? Upload a bill — we'll send the LoA next

Drop your most recent electricity or gas bill. I'll come back with what your retailer panel can do, in plain English, usually same day.

We're paid by the energy retailer when you switch — never by you. No obligation, no fee, your details stay with Smarta Switch.

  • Usually replied same day
  • We handle the switch end-to-end
  • No supply interruption
